Nature Museum Lincoln Park Fall Mini Sessions

As I begin to gear up for this year’s fall mini sessions, I thought it would be a great idea to take some time and reminisce about last year!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the process, mini sessions are short, 15-minute sessions that are perfect if you’re looking to get those family photos in a short (and painless) timeframe.

I know that not everyone in your family will be super excited about getting their pictures taken, but mini sessions are way easier to sell to your husband or teenager since it’s just 15 minutes long!

There’s no need to stress about the location because mini sessions happen at a set spot, usually at a corner of a park. That way, I’m easy to find and the process is quick and easy for everyone.

I book clients back-to-back, but even though our sessions are on a time crunch, I make sure to capture a variety of photos. That way, you’ll have some amazing memories to look back on! Whether you’re updating family photos or capturing some for Christmas cards, we’re sure to get the perfect shots for you.

In addition to the classic family photo, I always love getting some of the kids, a few of the parents, and even mommy & me or daddy & me. Having so many different kinds of photos will make it look like you booked me for longer than you did!

Since mini sessions are booked so closely together, it’s extremely important that you show up early so that you can take advantage of your full session time. Last year, everyone showed up on time, so the whole day ran like clockwork!

Pets are always welcome. After all, they’re part of the family too! This time, we had two dogs. Frankie and Okie weren’t rowdy at all, which definitely made the process easier. If you’re looking to incorporate a furbaby into your session, but maybe not the whole time, consider bringing an extra person to hold on to him while you’re strutting your stuff!

Mini sessions are also perfect for little kids, who might not have the patience for a full, 45-minute family session. It’s also a great idea to bring your child’s favorite toy! Playing with them will help them loosen up so we can get some smiles.
